Japan Travel Agency has launched the Japan Big Welcome Campaign to extend a warm welcome to those planning a first time trip to Japan, or those returning for another visit! From November 2011 until March 2012, Visit Japan invites tourists to come and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors, the striking winter landscapes and the delicate Japanese early spring.
The campaign features "Super Saving Coupons" that can be easily downloaded from the Visit Japan website to your phone or printer. These coupons can be used at hundreds of participating locations all over Japan, including hotels, restaurants, sightseeing companies, etc. and allow you to receive discounts, complimentary drinks, gifts, and the like. For instance, Toriyoshi Yakitori restaurant in Harajuku offers 10% off when you use the coupon; the Westin Miyako Hotel in Kyoto offers 10% off the room rate.
The cordial reception that one encounters in Japan is of a kind rarely experienced elsewhere. Unobtrusive and seemingly effortless, the graciousness and courtesy extended to visitors throughout their stay is the backdrop that completes the total Japan experience, not matter what your choice of activity may be: such as a sightseeing tour to the ancient temples of Kyoto, a guided hike to the top of Mount Fuji, some time spent shopping for electronics at bargain prices in Akihabara, souvenir hunting at the local arts and crafts shops, or eating and drinking your way through the izakayas of Tokyo! It is this geniality that makes each trip to Japan a lasting memory.
Making your way around the website is fun! You can select categories such as shopping, entertainment, sightseeing, food and drink, activities or accommodation. Each category is then broken down into subcategories such as area, type, features, coupon and campaign. You may also start your search by selecting the city of your choice, and then focus on the features within that particular city's site, making the search as broad or as narrow as you like.
