China Airlines will begin new flights from JFK (New York) to KIX (Osaka) on April 28th 2011, as a new stopover location of the New York – Taipei route, replacing Anchorage. This will be the first time for the Kansai International Airport (KIX) in its 16 years history to have non-stop flights from the U.S. East Coast.

It is also a gateway to Kansai area, which includes Kyoto and Nara, centuries-old former capitals full of cultural and historical sites. The new route will give tourists more flexibility to arrange their itineraries.
