"Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2010" April 29 ~ May 30, 2010
Marunouchi presents the fourth annual Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi exhibition at the Gyoko-Dori Underground Gallery April 29 through May 30. The event features 45 works of modern art, and was established to support young up-and-coming artists and find new talent. Around 45 art works, all produced by university art and graduate school students from all over Japan working toward their graduation, will be displayed at the Gyoko-Dori Underground Gallery—a unique public space near to JR Tokyo Station.
On April 29, 11 of the top pieces displayed will be awarded and by seven judges, including the well-known artist Kohei Nawa (http://www.kohei-nawa.net/index.html). The Audience Award will be selected after May 9, 2010
To date, a total of 143 artists who came out of the Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi within the past three years are currently active in the forefront of the art community. The event is a Marunouchi initiative which is line with the area’s increasing art and cultural presence, which included the opening of the historical Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum earlier this month.
