"NORYO YUKA" DINING TERRACE
Noryo

Noryo yuka is an outdoor dining terrace featuring a wooden floor designed for summer dining enjoyment. This is one of Kyoto's famous summer traditions along the Kamogawa River. It opens from late spring through the summer. This tradition has over a few hundred years history. The terraces extending out from the restaurant along the river allow the delicious meals and drinks to be served in a relaxing atmosphere complemented by the sounds and breeze from the river. Noryo yuka is common in many other places in Kyoto such as the Takao and Kibune regions and each have different characteristics. Typically, these restaurants were high-end traditional restaurants but today western style restaurants and coffee shops also offer the experience of terrace dining.
