In shopping districts, on buses and taxis and in hotels, banners will bear the "Japan. Thank You." logos in Tokyo (Ginza, Marunouchi, Akihabara, Asakusa, etc.), Yokohama, Kyoto, Osaka, Sendai and other destinations popular with visitors to Japan.
We will make the Times Square neighborhood blossom, too. We will fill many of Times Square's large screens with the "Thank You" logos with the cherry blossom motif-filled moving images to stimulate interest in Japan travel with other events commemorating the centennial of Japan's gift of the cherry blossom trees to Washington, D.C. We are planning a lighting ceremony on March 1 (11 AM) with the Kimono-clad Girls Corps. The Kimono Corps will lead the media to the "Japan Week" event at the Grand Central Station. http://japantravelinfo.com/events
