SETO INLAND SEA, JAPAN – Naoshima, a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, has since the 80’s evolved into a mecca for the contemporary art scene in Japan. This summer sees the birth of the Setouchi International Art Festival, with Naoshima and six other islands in the Seto Inland Sea along with the port city of Takamatsu on Shikoku co-operating to bring even more domestic and foreign artists and architects to the area. The months-long festival features numerous installations as well as museums and special events throughout the islands.
